With a storied marine legacy and a bold vision “To Be The Best Yacht Club In The World,” the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club partnered with Carmella to create a three-year strategic plan. The plan aligned leadership and membership with a clear course for growth, operational excellence, and member engagement.

RVYC recognized the need for a forward-looking strategic plan to fulfill its ambitious vision. They required a roadmap that balanced heritage with innovation, and a framework that could unify their mission, membership goals, and operational priorities. The club needed to engage members, attract new audiences, and strengthen financial and environmental sustainability—all while reinforcing its reputation for excellence and community.

Carmella facilitated a robust strategic planning process, combining stakeholder input, mission and vision refinement, and tiered priorities across a three-year plan. Key focus areas included:

Year 1: Financial Sustainability, Corporate Sponsorship, Legacy Giving, and Membership Growth & Retention.

Year 2: Member Engagement, Volunteerism, Operational Efficiency, Communication, and Digital Transformation.

Year 3: Global leadership in racing, experiences, and environmental stewardship. Strategies included creating ideal member profiles, analyzing survey data, launching targeted campaigns for visiting racers, and optimizing club assets. Throughout the plan, values like excellence, inclusivity, and community guided decision-making and goal setting.
